When should an insured person report a crash to Allianz?

The insured person, such as the owner, driver or passenger of a South Australian registered motor vehicle, should report the crash to Allianz as soon as practicable.

Allianz will then send them the necessary Accident Report form. Alternatively, you can download the form from the Allianz website.

Is there an excess?

An insured person, who can be the owner, driver or passenger, and who is deemed to be more than 25% responsible for a motor vehicle crash will need to pay an excess. The maximum excess is $300.

Alcohol, drugs and other breaches of policy

Where alcohol or drugs are involved in a motor vehicle crash, Allianz (on behalf of MAC) may recover from an insured person any money paid or costs incurred in settling a claim.

Recoveries may also be made for other acts including driving with reckless indifference, intending to cause injury or driving an unroadworthy vehicle.

CTP Fraud

People who make false motor injury claims rip millions of dollars off South Australian motorists every year.

MAC is committed to fighting fraud to contain premium costs and ensure that money for compensation goes to those who are entitled to claim.

CTP Claims Manager, Allianz, has a dedicated Fraud Investigation Unit for unjustified or excessive claims. MAC also defends fraudulent claims and may refer cases to police.

The confidential Fraud Hotline plays a critical role in the early detection of motor injury fraud. People are encouraged to call the Fraud Hotline 1800 013443. Callers can remain anonymous.
