If you are more than 25% responsible for a crash, someone was injured and Motor Accident Commission has paid compensation to that person, you will be required to pay an excess.
If the total paid by the Motor Accident Commission is less than the excess amount, then the amount payable would be the total of compensation that has been paid. If the total paid by the Motor Accident Commission is more than the excess amount, then the amount payable would limited to the relevant excess amount
The amount of the excess changes annually, and is based on the date of the accident.
If payment is made within 30 days of being requested, a 5% discount is available
The applicable excesses are as follows:
