Drink driving is a major cause of crashes resulting in injury and death on South Australian roads.
Research shows that from 2002 to 2006 there were almost 700 drivers and motorcycle riders killed or seriously injured who were above the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit.
Alcohol consumption lowers driving performance and affects driving behaviour. Studies have shown that as a driver's alcohol level increases, so does the risk of being involved in a crash.
