Wearing a seatbelt is easy... Dead Easy.
Wearing a seatbelt is easy, so why do South Australian motorists continue to not wear one and are dying on our roads as a result?
- Whilst the vast majority of motorists (95%) buckle up when they take to the roads, seat belt usage rates amongst those vehicle occupants killed remains a serious issue.
- In 2008 there were 24 fatalities, 66 serious injuries and 241 casualties involving motorists in road crashes who were not wearing a seatbelt.
- Most accidents involving unrestrained motorists happen close to home, so wear your seatbelt, even on short trips and when travelling close to home, it will save you life.
