In 2013/14 the Motor Accident Commission (MAC) launched its campaign of online videos “The Adventures of Nibbles”.
With drug driving a growing area of concern within the road safety community, and drug drivers being challenging to educate, the campaign was used to combatted the behavioural issue of drug driving.
Following qualitative research on cannabis use, the campaign utilised online cartoon videos to communicate the key message ‘there are some things you shouldn’t do stoned, make driving one of them.
The online videos reached target demographics in an engaging manner to deliver drug related road safety messages to users in a way that they want to watch and engage with, while raising awareness of the issue and SAPOL’s driver testing regime.
