SANFL Grand Final Footy – get behind your team, not the wheel!
Grand Final footy is nearly upon us, with Norwood taking on North this weekend in the SANFL Grand Final at Adelaide Oval.
It’s a great time for everyone to get behind their team and support them to victory in taking out the 2018 Premiership, but it’s not a great time to get behind the wheel if you’re planning on having a couple drinks at the game.
Drink driving is one of the main causes of road deaths in South Australia, but by making smart choices, everyone can positively impact the safety of all road users.
If you’re planning on having a couple drinks around the SANFL Grand Final, make sure you plan alternate transport. Aside from having devastating consequences, alcohol and drugs impair your driving ability and decision making, they increase confidence and aggression and lead to an increase in other risk-taking behaviour.
If you are driving to the game, it’s a busy time, so make sure you’re abiding by the reduced speed limits and being vigilant for pedestrians – they’re not always looking out for you.
Let’s all have a great SANFL Grand Final and celebrate the hard work of our local footy teams in 2018.
Happy ‘Talk Like Shakespeare Day.’
